Join GMI Premium (free or paid account) and request to become a course provider. On approval, you can create as many guitar courses and products as you wish.
You set the price of the course and receive (after a 2% deduction to cover costs) 85% of your asking price.
You can also offer a wide range of digital resources such as PDFs, MIDI and WAV files for sale. Anything that is a downloadable product can be sold. You receive 85% of the price you set minus the 2% deduction from the top line as detailed above.
If you upload a course or product for sale, it must be your own work. No part can be taken from copyright material which you did not create and/or legally own.
Q – Can I only sell my course or products on GMI Premium?
A – Absolutely not. This is a non exclusive deal, therefore you can sell your course/products on as many different platforms as you want.
Q – What kind of course or product can I make?
A – The course or product you submit can be about anything to do with guitar or music. We do not limit what people can teach, however, we always inspect and will make one of the following decisions:
- Approve the course or product.
- Make specific requests re your course/product so that it lines up with GMI Premium courses and products before approval.
- Politely and respectfully decline your course and/or materials if it is not what we feel is needed at the time of upload.
PLEASE UNDERSTAND THAT WE WANT TO INCLUDE AS MANY AUTHORS ON THIS SITE AS POSSIBLE, HOWEVER, THERE MAY BE TIMES WHEN IT IS JUST NOT POSSIBLE TO ACCEPT A COURSE OR SELLING MATERIALS. YOU WILL BE INFORMED AS SOON AS IS POSSIBLE WITH REGARDS YOUR UPLOADS ACCEPTANCE OR OTHERWISE. NO COURSE OR MATERIAL IS AUTOMATICALLY DISPLAYED BEFORE BEING INSPECTED.
Q – How do I upload video content?
A – All video is streamed from a dedicated server. On acceptance of a course or product that included video, you will be asked to send your finished video(s) to us and we will upload and embed them into your course or product page. All courses must have a demo video which highlights the course benefits etc. If in doubt, get in touch with us via our contact form and we’ll talk you through the process.
Q – Will I be a GMI Premium instructor if my courses are accepted?
A – No. GMI Premium instructors are picked by us. Your course and products will receive the same attention, but GMI instructor products are branded as such.
Q – What other items can I offer for sale?
A – If your product can be downloaded, you can sell it as long as your product is guitar or music related. All products are checked for suitability before going live.
Q – Does GMI Premium make any claims on my course or materials that I sell?
A – No. GMI Premium does not own any of your work. GMI Premium takes a 15% percentage fee each time you sell your course or downloads after an initial 2% cost is taken from the headline figure. If you decide that you wish to end selling your products on GMI Premium, you can remove your products at any time. You will received any outstanding monies still due to you in line with the “How quickly do I get paid?” conditions below.
Q – Am I tied in to an agreement with GMI Premium?
A – No, you are free to remove your courses/products or end your association with GMI Premium at any time you wish.
Q – How do I get paid?
A – Tutors and content providers must have a Paypal account to receive payment.
Q – How quickly do I get paid?
A – Balance due to you can be taken out five days after you have sold an item or course. You need to have a minimum of $20 in your account before you can withdraw your balance.
Q – What about tax?
A – You are responsible for detailing your income to the tax authorities in your own country.
Q – Do I always receive 85% of the price I state for a course or product after the 2% deduction to cover bank fees & charges?
A – Yes, you will always receive 85% of the remaining amount after the 2% fee. One thing to keep in mind…ALL COURSE PRICES AND PRODUCTS ARE REDUCED BY 30% IF THE BUYER IS A PAID SUBSCRIBER. So, if you set your course at $100, a monthly subscriber would only pay $70 and you would receive 85% of this fee after the 2% fee was deducted from $70. Keep this in mind when you are pricing your courses and/or downloads.
